Gestoría in the Valencian Community

The Valencian Community has three provinces and each one decides its own files: the immigration office, the traffic headquarters and the police station that apply to you depend on where you are registered, not on where your gestoría is. We work across the whole region, with an office in València and online filing for Alicante, Castellón and the coastal towns.

What changes from province to province

A question that comes up almost every time: if I live in Torrevieja, can I hire a gestoría in València? Yes, and it changes nothing in the file. What does change with your town-hall registration is which authority decides it:

  • Immigration: each province has its own office. An arraigo for someone registered in Alicante is decided by the Alicante office, even if a gestoría in València files it.
  • TIE fingerprints: taken by the Policía Nacional in your province of residence, with a separate appointment from the filing one.
  • Traffic: licence exchange and vehicle registration are handled by the Provincial Traffic Headquarters for your address.
  • Padrón: always the town hall of your municipality, and registration requirements vary considerably from one town to another.
  • Regional procedures, such as the housing report, are requested through the Generalitat's electronic office, which is shared by all three provinces.

That is why the pages below are split by city: not because the service changes, but because real waiting times, appointments and the habits of each office are different.

You do not need to come to the office

Most of the work is done online, with a digital certificate or a power of representation, so where the client lives does not limit the service. There are two routes and both are routine:

  • Digital certificate: you sign from wherever you are, and we prepare and file the application.
  • Power of representation or electronic authorisation: we act on your behalf using the professional certificate of a registered gestora.

The exception is strictly personal acts, which nobody can do for you: proving your identity to obtain the digital certificate, giving fingerprints for the TIE, and taking the oath in a citizenship file. Those must be done in person, and always in the province where you are registered.

What a registered gestora actually means

Gestor administrativo is a regulated, verifiable profession. You can check any professional's registration in the public register of the General Council, and in Valencia the competent college is the ICGA. The practical difference is not the title: a registered gestor can file applications with a professional certificate on the client's behalf, without the client booking an appointment or travelling.

If your question is about procedure rather than your own case, it is probably answered in the guides index, with the law linked and at no cost.

Frequently asked questions

I live in Alicante. Can I hire a gestoría in Valencia?

Yes. Your file is decided by the authority in your province regardless of where the gestoría is. Filing is done online and nobody needs to travel.

What do I have to do in person?

Three things: prove your identity to obtain the digital certificate, give fingerprints for the TIE, and take the oath in a citizenship file. Everything else can be delegated.

Are waiting times the same in Valencia and Alicante?

The legal deadline is, because the law is national. The real waiting time depends on each office's workload and varies between provinces and through the year.

Do you also cover Castellón?

Yes, the whole region and the rest of Spain online. In-person appointments are at the València office.

Which languages do you work in?

Spanish, English, Ukrainian and Russian, both in person and remotely.
