Background
I came to Spain more than fifteen years ago and stayed. To qualify as a gestora administrativa I took a degree in translation, completed a master's in administrative management in Valencia and passed the entrance exam of the Official Association of Gestores Administrativos of Valencia, of which I am a member.
The training in translation is no ornament in this trade. A good part of what reaches this desk is foreign documents that have to be read, understood and fitted into a Spanish procedure: birth certificates, divorce judgments, academic qualifications, employment contracts, powers granted in another language and under another legal tradition. Knowing what a document really says before translating it avoids half the problems.
What being a registered gestora means
The profession of gestor administrativo is regulated and requires membership of a professional association, and that has three practical effects worth knowing when you choose who represents you:
- Professional certificate. I can file applications online on your behalf before the civil and land registries, the Directorate-General for Traffic, the Ministry of the Interior, the Tax Agency and Social Security. In procedures such as vehicles, that means skipping the appointment system that is the real bottleneck.
- Professional liability insurance. All work is covered by the compulsory insurance of registered practice.
- Code of conduct and oversight by the association. There is a statute, there are rules of conduct and there is an association to complain to. An unregistered intermediary offers none of that.
The membership number and practice details can be verified in the public register of registered gestores administrativos of the General Council, searching by surname and province. If you hire someone for a procedure that decides your residence, checking is a minute well spent, with us or with anyone else.
How I work
- I personally supervise every file. You are not a case number.
- Fixed quote before starting and updates on the status of the file without you having to chase it.
- Review before filing. Most of the refusals we have seen arrive from elsewhere were avoidable: a document was missing, the certificate was the simple one instead of the historical one, the contract did not reach the required hours. That check is the cheapest part of the work and the one that saves most.
- Service in four languages, Spanish, English, Ukrainian and Russian, in person, by phone and on WhatsApp.
- Remotely if needed. With a digital certificate or a power of representation, most clients settle everything without setting foot in the office.

Guides
All of the above explained step by step with the law linked, in case you prefer to do it yourself.
Why we publish free guides
It might seem contradictory to explain in detail how to do on your own what we charge to do. It is not. Many people can settle a simple procedure alone and deserve to be able to without paying anyone; a gestoría's work begins where the file gets complicated, deadlines cross or there is a refusal to appeal.
Besides, every guide is written with the law in front of us and links the consolidated text in the BOE and the electronic office of the competent body. That method is the same one we apply to files: see our editorial policy.
